I stayed at the lodge for the night before my wedding with my 4 bridesmaids (to get married around the corner at Alpheton Hall Barns) and Claire was the most accommodating, laidback and friendly host we could have asked for. The rooms were all fabulous including everything we needed and the surrounding gardens/land was stunning. Claire provided a breakfast of cereals, fresh cut and prepared fruit, yogurts, toast and croissants for us all laid out beautifully on the morning of the wedding which was such a relief as I needed to make sure I ate before the big day! We had various people coming in and out on that morning, photographers, make-up artists, florists, various guests being dropped off for the photos/wedding prep etc. and Claire was so lovely to all of them. It was a lot of people to have in your house/accommodation and nothing was a bother or stress! In fact Claire was baking something that smelled amazing at the time, so the smells of cakes and sweet treats was another welcome addition to the morning! My bridesmaids stayed there the night of the wedding also and they have all passed on their thanks and appreciation to Newmans Lodge. Our twin room was upstairs and was light, airy, spacious and had an amazing large walk in shower. They have 2 lovely friendly dogs at this property which was most well received by this group of dog lovers! I had photos taken of me getting ready upstairs in our room, looking out over the balcony. The setting was amazing – blessed further by great weather. Thank you Claire and family, for everything.
